Welcome to the Thames Water and predecessors archive which offers access to a rare collection of photographs and documents charting the history of London’s water and sewerage legacy over the past 150 years.
The archive was originally set up at Abbey Mills and was run by archivists for many years. However, we felt something more permanent had to be done to look after these precious items. We started a process of cataloguing and digitisation in 2014 to preserve the original items and moved many of them into the London Metropolitan Archive. This digital archive will ensure these wonderful items are more widely available and preserve the originals for future generations.
We will continue to grow our digital archive, adding content as we uncover hidden gems on our sites.
